Ryan Bowser repeat winner at Keyser Kiwanis Independence 5K

KEYSER, W.Va. - Ryan Bowser of Grantsville won the Keyser Kiwanis Independence 5K for the second straight year with a time of 16:48. Amy Rowan of Cumberland was the overall female winner in 20:15.
Age group winners were: Men-15 and under, Cullin Brown, 19:09; 16-19, Kaison Rohrbaugh, 18:08; 20-29, Andrew Bowser, 19:31; 30-39, Thomas Breighner, 19:10; 40-49, Dennis Mickey, 17:17; 50-59, Myron Kremer, 20:30; and 60 and over, David Webb, 25:24.
Female age group winners were: 19 and under, Alexandra Whitman, 24:35; 20-29, Bethany Heavner, 21:16; 30-39, Shelly Work, 23:13; and 40 and over, Cindy Whiteman, 26:51.
Eight-four runners took part in the 5K with 15 participants in the non-competitive walk. Also, 32 participated in the fourth Firecracker Quarter-Mile for kids 10 years and under.
