The 8th Annual Lisa Wade Memorial 5-K Run

The 8th Annual Lisa’s Race was a huge success, with a record crowd of 331 participants. 170 people completed the 5k run, with the rest participating in either the 1.5 mile fun run/walk or Corey’s Course, our new 15 minute handicap friendly walk in memory of Lisa’s cousin Corey Broadwater.

The weather was humid, but otherwise great. The crowd had a great time at the after race festivities, socializing and enjoying the bounty of refreshments. Awards were presented to the top finishers in each age group including: female overall- Amy Rowan; male overall- Jaron Hawkins (who beat the course record and earned himself a $100 bounty!); female masters overall- Paula Bridges; male masters overall- Tom Ruckert; female area high school runner- Jennifer Cosner (Southern Garrett High School); male area high school runner- Ian P.MacFawn (Allegany High School)
